Jubilee Metals restarts work at Windsor PGM and chrome operations

Jubilee Metals Group PLC (LON:JLP) said its Windsor platinum group metals and chrome operations in South Africa have restarted operations, following the restart of work at Inyoni a fortnight ago.

“With all our operations being surface based processing facilities, they lend themselves to a rapid ramp-up to achieve targeted throughputs,” said chief executive Leon Coetzer.

He said strict health and security measures are being implemented on site to ensure compliance with the requirements and best practises as subscribed by the local authorities.

The AIM-listed group has also completed the commissioning of the cobalt production line to compliment the producing copper refinery and sulfuric acid plant at the Sable refinery in Kabwe, Zambia.

Construction work of the zinc circuit at Sable, which is being set up as a multi-metal refinery for both Jubilee's 6.5mln tonnes of surface tailings material as well as potential third party producers, has been hampered by restrictions on the movement of equipment and supplies across borders due to coronavirus.
