A woman has died after suffering severe burns in an explosion which also left 14 injured at a food festival in Germany, according to police.
Police said the blast likely came from a large frying pan at the Backesfest fête in Freudenberg, near the cities of Dortmund and Cologne, German news agency dpa reported on Monday.
Investigators speculated raindrops falling into the hot oil may have sparked the explosion but said it would take several days to fully assess the incident.
Five other victims were left fighting for their lives, including four with burns and one who suffered a heart attack, dpa reported.
Around 100 people attended the festival on Sunday, which marks the yearly start of business at a traditional town bakery.
