Last emotional haka for rugby player as he gets married day before he died
A terminally-ill man used his remaining strength to marry the woman he loved.
Navar Herbert, 22, died on Tuesday a day after his union to Maia Falwasser in Gold Coast, Australia.
The rugby player, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour just a few months ago, told his new wife he loved her very much after being wheeled to the make-shift altar.
His friends then performed an emotional haka to pay tribute to him.
Mrs Falwasser has shared the touching footage of the wedding on GoFundMe as she tried to raise $100,000 (£70,000) to fly her husbands body back to Kotahitanga Marae, where he grew up.
His dying wish was to be buried there.
Mrs Falwasser wrote on GoFundMe: Today my heart is heavy and sad, I lost my best friend, husband and the father to our son, Maia wrote in a touching tribute to her late husband.
I feel absolutely showered in love by friends and family … This is a hard time, however I do find my strength and refuge in everybodys support.
Navar impacted so many people near and far, and he will always be in our memories and have a special place in our hearts.
Mrs Falwasser was seen crying during the wedding as her mother walked her down the aisle.
Their 11-month-old son Kyrie was also there to witness his parents take their vows.
