A 25-year-old Long Island woman has been arrested for allegedly backing up her car and dragging her own mother, possibly running her over, after the mother tried to grab her purse from the vehicle after an argument.
It's not clear what Shaquay Minter and her mom were arguing about at the County Line Road in Massapequa early Wednesday afternoon, but the dispute escalated to the driveway, according to police.
Minter got in her car. The mother's pocketbook had been in the vehicle and she tried to pull it out, at which point police say Minter backup up and dragged her mother by the vehicle. Police say she "possibly" ran her over.
The 42-year-old mother was taken to a hospital with "multiple injuries," though the severity of those injuries wasn't immediately clear.
Minter was arrested on charges of assault and criminal contempt. She is expected to be arraigned Thursday. It wasn't clear if she had an attorney.
