Family of man found dead in Ibiza believe he was killed and are offering £5,000 reward
The family of a man found dead in Ibiza said they believe he was killed and are offering £5,000 for information leading to a conviction.
Anwaar Lahrichi-Greenwoods body was discovered last Sunday floating near the mouth of San Antonio port.
The 24-year-old business consultant had been missing since the early hours of the previous day after leaving a party.
Police said they have no evidence pointing towards a fight or attack taking place before the Londoner ended up in the water.
A grieving relative has set up a social media account called Justice For Anwaar.
Anwaars aunt Souad Lahrichi, who is behind the appeal for information, said: My nephew Anwaar Lahrichi Greenwood was killed on Saturday 8 August. He was found in the marina in San Antonio.
We are offering £5,000 for any information that may lead to a conviction. We as his family are desperate to find out what happened to our boy, my sisters only son.
Please help us help her find some peace.
The message along the Instagram group JusticeForAnwaar added: Anwaar didnt just die. He was killed. Help us to get him justice.
Help us, help him when no-one else would.
A friend took to social media in the days after Anwaars death to say she was sure he had been attacked.
The friend wrote: I dont know much, all I know is he went on holiday with his mates, they came back with his belongings and he was left behind.
Apparently he was found in the water. Pretty sure he was attacked.
Just so sad because he was so lovely. Beautiful inside and out.
Police recovered his body from the mouth of San Antonio port around noon last Sunday after friends and relatives took to social media to launch an appeal for information on his whereabouts.
Investigators found marks on his body but said before the post-mortem, which showed he had drowned, that they could have been caused by his body hitting rocks or other objects in the water.
Further tests – expected to be carried out at a lab in Barcelona – will now seek to determine if he had consumed drink or drugs before he died.
Anwaar was due to fly back to Britain the day he disappeared.
He vanished after partying in San Antonios raucous West End area and walking towards the party resorts main beach called sArenal.
Friends and family paid tribute online to Anwaar after it was confirmed the body pulled from the sea was his.
His sister Lula wrote: I feel so dead inside knowing Ill never see you again..knowing you went on holiday and died in the sea alone…I tried to find you with all my power my love.
My bro bro, my best friend. You were the best brother and you made me feel important and special.
Before the discovery of his body, she appealed for information on his whereabouts, pleading: If anyone is in Ibiza at the moment (San Antonio) or has seen or is with my brother Anwaar please contact as hes been missing since 3am leaving a party.
Police have said they believe Anwaars death was a tragic accident.
